Hemingway Wood Forest Products, Inc. was originally established as Hemingway Wood in 1978 by John Benford Sr. and Gene Prevatte in Hemingway, SC . In 1985 Gene and John Sr.’s vision had changed. While John Sr. was focused more toward timber harvesting, Gene was more interested in timber management and formed Prevatte and Associates. This change was shortly followed by a move from Hemingway, SC to Georgetown, SC where the company is now located. After years of working for his father, John Benford Jr. took over the company in 2006, changing the name to Hemingway Wood Forest Products, Inc. With well over 30 years of experience in timber harvesting Hemingway Wood Forest Products, Inc. is a proudly locally owned and operated business. “We buy all types of timber”, including pine and hardwood and bring decades of experience in the field of timber harvesting.
